Pokémon TCG This Week: Drops, Restocks & What to Chase

Welcome back to the realm. We've been refreshing retailer pages so you don't have to.

This week is one of those rare windows where everything is moving at once — older Scarlet & Violet sets are getting one final reprint pass, the next block is starting to show up in distributor catalogs, and Japanese exclusives are flowing into the secondary market faster than usual.

If you only read one section, scroll to the Buy / Wait / Skip verdict at the bottom.

What dropped this week

Three things hit shelves that are worth your attention:

  • Surging Sparks Booster Bundles — Target and Walmart both restocked online. MSRP holds for now but the Pikachu ex pull rate makes these move fast.
  • 151 Ultra-Premium Collections — these have been ghost-status for months. A small wave landed at Best Buy. Limit one per account.
  • Twilight Masquerade Elite Trainer Box — back at MSRP at most major retailers. The Ogerpon Mask alt-arts are still chase cards.

The restock rotation, ranked

Not every restock is worth the click. Here's how we're ranking them right now:

  1. 151 UPC — best long-term hold. Original 151 nostalgia plus a tight print run.
  2. Surging Sparks Booster Boxes — Pikachu ex hype keeps singles strong.
  3. Twilight Masquerade ETBs — solid pull rates, good trainer items.
  4. Paldean Fates Mini Tins — fun rip but resale potential is soft.
  5. Obsidian Flames anything — getting cooked on price. Skip unless it's MSRP.

Japanese imports worth grabbing

The Japanese market has been quietly stacking heat:

  • Crimson Haze (sv5a) — Charizard ex SAR remains one of the cleanest art rares of the era.
  • Wild Force / Cyber Judge — solid double-pack EX boxes coming back into stock from importers.
  • Pokémon Card 151 (Japan) — the original print is now harder to find than the English version. If you see sealed at fair market, grab it.

Drops to watch this week

Mark your calendar:

  • Friday 10 AM ET — Best Buy typically refreshes Pokémon stock around lunch on the East Coast.
  • Saturday morning — Target store-pickup inventory updates overnight. Use our stock tracker to see when local stores flip from sold-out to in-stock.
  • Sunday evening — Pokémon Center US has been doing surprise weekend drops on accessories and collection boxes.

Buy / Wait / Skip

Buy: 151 UPC, Crimson Haze boxes, Surging Sparks Bundles at MSRP.

Wait: anything from the next set teasers — let the hype wave pass before paying preorder premiums.

Skip: secondary-market ETBs going for 2x MSRP. Patience pays.
