First line of defence

Card Sleeves & Protectors

The cheapest insurance in the hobby — sized correctly, a sleeve stops nearly all the damage that costs a card its condition.

Protection works in layers. A penny sleeve keeps oils, dust and surface scratches off the card. A deck sleeve on top of that survives shuffling. A rigid top loader or semi-rigid holder stops bending and corner crush in transit. A box or binder keeps the whole lot upright, supported and out of the light.

Getting the size right matters more than the brand. Standard cards are about 63 x 88 mm and take standard sleeves; Japanese-size cards are about 59 x 86 mm and swim in a standard sleeve, which lets in dust and lets the card slide. Top loaders are chosen by thickness in points, not by length. Anime Realms protectors are still in development — nothing on this page is in stock — but the sizing guidance applies wherever you buy.

Card Sleeves & Protectors products

Why collectors pick these

Sized, not guessed

Every protector we bring in will list the exact card size it fits, so you aren't decoding marketing names.

Clear enough to display

Protection that yellows or hazes defeats the point. Clarity and finish are part of what we test before anything ships.

Honest about limits

Sleeves stop scratches, not bends. We'll tell you which layer solves which problem instead of overselling one product.

Common questions

What size sleeve fits a Pokémon or Magic card?

Standard trading cards measure roughly 63 x 88 mm (2.5 x 3.5 in). Penny sleeves and standard deck sleeves are sized for that. Yu-Gi-Oh! and other Japanese-size cards are smaller at about 59 x 86 mm and need small or Japanese-size sleeves.

What is double sleeving and do I need it?

Double sleeving means a snug inner sleeve (often loaded upside down) inside an outer sleeve, so the card is sealed on all sides. It's worth it for expensive or played cards; for bulk storage a single penny sleeve is enough.

What size top loader should I buy?

A 3 x 4 inch top loader is the standard size for a single sleeved card. Thicker cards, patch cards and relics need a thicker top loader measured in points — 55pt, 75pt, 130pt and up — chosen to match the card's thickness, not its length and width.

Are Anime Realms sleeves available to buy?

Not yet. This category is pre-launch, so there is no stock and nothing is listed for sale. The sizing guidance here is useful regardless of where you buy, and the waitlist will tell you when our own protectors ship.
